Where are the Fiction books?

I'd like to read a good fiction book - where can I find them?

Answer

Academic libraries shelve their books by subject, rather than just by Fiction and Non-Fiction as many public libraries do.  The subject for most fiction is "Language and Literature" which begins with the call letter P.

If you know the title or author you are looking for, the easiest thing to do is look it up in our catalog and get the call number.

If you want to browse a good place to start is call numbers beginning with PR (English Literature) and PS (American Literature.) We also have a collection of graphic novels and YA novels (ask at the Main Desk for the shelving location.)

Additionally, the DiPietro Library has a shelf designated as a "Paperback Exchange" where you can take a book or leave a book, and there is a Little Free Library located by the fire pit outside of the Library Cafe.
